Our story
Care born from personal experience
We started this service because we understood, first-hand, how hard it can be to find care that truly feels like care — not just a service. That experience shapes everything we do.
Where it all began
Kupa Care was founded by two Registered Mental Health Nurses — Abigail and Mini — who between them bring decades of clinical leadership, community care, and governance experience. We did not start this journey because it was easy. We started it because we knew it was needed.
We are at the beginning of something we believe in deeply. We have built the foundations — the policies, the governance, the clinical expertise, and the values — to deliver care that is safe, dignified, and genuinely person-centred. Now we are ready to grow.
We are actively welcoming both private clients and state-funded contracts across the Gwent Regional Partnership area. Whether you are a family seeking support for a loved one, or a commissioning body looking for a reliable, clinically-led provider, we would love to hear from you. Our doors are open.
What drives us
"Our mission is simple: to help people live well at home, for as long as they choose to."
We believe home is more than a building — it is where people feel most themselves. Our role is to make staying there possible, safe, and joyful for as long as possible.
The values we live by
These aren't words on a wall — they're the principles that guide every visit, every conversation, and every decision we make.
Compassion first
Every decision we make starts with empathy. We treat every client the way we would want our own family to be treated.
Dignity always
We support people in a way that preserves their independence, privacy, and sense of self — never making them feel like a burden.
Consistency matters
Familiar faces build trust. We work hard to ensure clients see the same carers regularly, so relationships can grow.
Honesty and openness
We communicate clearly with clients and families — about what we do, how we do it, and when things need to change.
How we've grown
A few milestones along the way — with many more still to come.
A shared vision
Two RMNs with decades of combined experience recognised a gap in the market for clinically-led, compassionate domiciliary care in the Gwent area — and decided to do something about it.
Building it right
We invested in getting the governance, policies, and regulatory framework right from the start — ensuring Kupa Care meets and exceeds CIW standards before welcoming our first clients.
Open for care
We are now ready and welcoming clients — both privately funded and through local authority and health board commissioning. Our team is trained, our standards are set, and our commitment is absolute.
Growing with purpose
Our ambition is to grow a team that shares our values — expanding our reach across the Gwent region while never compromising on the quality and warmth of care we deliver.
Leadership
